They belong to the Trevally family (Carangidae). Queenfish are tropical, salt water, sporting fish. They have power, speed and will leap repeatedly in the effort to throw the fly. A Queenfish measuring 1mtr long was regarded as a trophy when I was guiding a season in Australia. Normally if you miss them the first time they will come back for another go and it can all be very exciting fishing. Streamer baitfish patterns are a first choice followed by surface popping flies.
