This is a species of fish from the salmon family. Although called a trout it is actually a char. They are stunning colored fish with red dots and fins with white leading edges. It has a diverse diet and there is not much it will not try and eat. They normally will not live longer in the wild than 4-5 yrs. Dry fly fishing in summer with large dry flies can be great fun with these aggressive feeders.
