I hope you are all well and having fun!

The weather since the start of the season in October has not been the best, lots of wind and now again flooded rivers, but I’m sure the hot weather shall come. The few days we had of great hot summer weather and gin clear water had some big trout coming up to the surface and taking my clients black Luv Machines mostly on the fast flowing free stone rivers.

On the flow willow lined rivers and lakes the first willow grubs are just starting to fall on the odd warm day, but over all so far it’s been mainly a nymph year. I might have to call it YEAR OF THE NYMPH! if the sun does not come out and play.

But as I try and find the time to get this all together two weeks after I started it the sun has came out and it’s been very hot, the cicadas are chirping and the willow grubs are falling in their masses.

Huge big trout are still feeding on mice near the beach forests and people are struggling to hold them up for the camera fish porn shot. Maybe now I’ve said that it should be year of the Mouse!

As you can see they will float off the bottom it you use them in conjunction with a heavy mayfly bomb or a small lead weight.
