Our Location

Stu's Fly shop is situated only a few minutes from the world famous brown trout river, The Mataura River. Located in the small picturesque town of Athol we are only a 45 minute scenic drive from Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand.

TO GET TO Stu's fly shop you drive from Queenstown heading south along the main tourist road  Highway 6, along the side of Lake Wakatipu, towards Te –Anau, Milford Sound, Invercargill and Gore . After driving for about 45minutes you will pass over a bridge that crosses the Mataura River. Keep driving for about 2km until you reach the township of Athol, and you will see on your left as you enter Athol, a large sign – STUS FLY SHOP - and the shop. The private shop car park is situated at the rear of the shop. Basically you can't, and will not, miss the shop!

The shop is open seven days a week throughout the fishing season from Mid September until the end of April from 7am until late. We look forward to meeting you.
